"Rise to Office, War, Dictatorship"- Senior Guard member Christine Nguyen proudly presents the opener flag. |
"The flag for the last song adds visual impact," said Mr. Kaldy, "and it has a V on it." For the other songs, "the colors complement the show and the mood. The gold flag complements Cleopatra's costume."

There certainly is bloodshed in "Veni Vidi Vici," as
Julius Caesar, Daven Lagman's character, and Thach's
character all die at the end of the show.
"With the mellophone solo at the beginning and the sunrise in the flag, the opener is Caesar's call to arms," explained Color Guard Instructor Bruce Paulson. "In the second song, the bright gold represents Cleopatra's wealth. For the closer flag, the bright silver gives life to Caesar, because the Romans do pray to him. But the red accent is there to forebode his imminent death."
